Navigating the water jump

Case Study:

Joshua

Joshua had a shortened cranial stride in his left fore, tended to be a bit lazy behind and was resistant to stretching down when ridden. During the treatment he softened through his back, and he really stretched his head down when he was next ridden. After the second treatment Joshua seemed "happier and is working better, feeling freer" (owner's comment)

How many treatments?

The answer to this lies with the individual being treated. Generally three treatments, at weekly intervals, are enough to achieve effective and lasting results. If there are deeper-seated problems, more treatments may be indicated.

Ongoing Maintenance

To maintain optimum results, especially important for competition or elderly horses, monthly, three monthly or yearly top ups are advised. These help to keep the horse supple, relaxed and free from the more major injuries that can stem from minor problems. Prevention is the best form of protection.

Insurance Cover

Some insurance companies will cover the cost of complementary treatments under veterinary fees, when recommended by the animal's vet. This may not be the best option for everyone, due to future exclusions or loss of no claims. However, if you feel that this could be of benefit to you, please talk to your vet and insurance company for details.
